🚓 City Centre Neighbourhood Team Weekly Round-Up 🚓

Another busy week for your City Centre Neighbourhood Team, with officers continuing to tackle crime, antisocial behaviour and local concerns across Leicester. 💙

🚔 Proactive policing in Cathedral Gardens

This evening, PC Suhaib and PC Georgie have been interviewing a suspect on suspicion of Possession with Intent to Supply a Class C drug. This follows proactive work conducted by PC George and PC Tom in the Cathedral Gardens area.

We know this location remains a concern for some residents and businesses, and officers will continue carrying out high-visibility patrols and proactive activity there. 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

🤝 Community Engagement

Today, PCSO Donna hosted a local officer drop-in session at the Blood Donor Centre opposite the Guildhall, giving members of the public the opportunity to raise concerns, ask questions and speak directly with their neighbourhood team.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat. ☕💬

🛍️ Preparing for the Week of Action Against Retail Crime

On Friday, PC Tom worked alongside the Corporate Communications Team to prepare a communications package ahead of the National Business Crime Centre Week of Action Against Retail Crime, which begins on 9 November.

Keep an eye on our social media channels over the coming weeks for crime prevention advice, support for businesses and updates on the work being carried out across the city centre. 🏪🛒

📚 Investing in Officer Knowledge

Our Young Persons Liaison Officer, PC Dean, has been helping to develop knowledge across the team by delivering training around antisocial behaviour.

Understanding how to identify, investigate and effectively deal with antisocial behaviour is essential, as it remains one of the most common issues reported to neighbourhood officers. ✅

📦 Parcel Theft Prevention

Meanwhile, PC Ellis has been investigating a recent increase in reports of parcels being stolen from communal accommodation blocks.

If you live in student accommodation or a building with a shared reception area, please help protect your deliveries by:

📦 Collecting parcels promptly
📦 Asking for items to be stored out of sight where possible
📦 Making use of parcel lockers or secure collection points where available
📦 Tracking deliveries so you know when they arrive

A few simple steps can help prevent opportunist thieves from targeting your property. 🔒
